Brand guidelines
Hollo is a clinical-grade software platform designed to help measure, track and treat the mental health and
wellbeing of chronic patients. The startup won the Microsoft Imagine Cup.
The founders had a compelling mission and award-winning technology, but lacked a cohesive visual identity that communicated trust, clinical credibility and human warmth simultaneously — a difficult balance for a mental health
platform.
Approach: I began by taking time to deeply understand Hollo’s mission, values and audience before proposing creative directions. I presented multiple strategic approaches, working collaboratively with the founders to find the solution that best met their vision. The outcome was a comprehensive set of brand guidelines — covering visual identity, tone of voice, colour, typography and application across digital touchpoints.
Outcome: The brand guidelines gave Hollo a professional, distinctive identity that expressed both clinical credibility and human empathy. The co-founder described the process as “a fruitful and professional experience” and recommended me to other founders and social enterprises.
“When I reached out to Eric to help with the visual language at Hollo, I was impressed by both his portfolio and his comprehensive approach. I had asked Eric to give our brand a refresh and he was able to provide detailed responses to my questions; took the time to understand what our mission is; proposed different approaches which we feel meets our vision; and worked together with us to find a solution! Overall it was a fruitful and professional experience working with Eric, would recommend to fellow founders or social enterprises looking to express themselves professionally.”
