About
Asian Charity Services mission is to raise the standards and professionalism of small to medium-sized nonprofits, enabling them to be more effective, efficient, and sustainable in serving communities in Hong Kong.My role
To help them gain impact and engage better with their stakeholders, I led the redesign of their brand and website.
Situation
ACS needed a professional, corporate and recognizable brand.
Task
Through stakeholders interviews and competitive audits, I identified pain points – logo readability issues, lack of branding consistency, absence of clear guidelines.
Actions
Logo was revamped to improve its readability, and the ACS acronym was introduced.
A brand book was designed to provide typography, colour and design guidelines.
Results
The brand revamp resulted in a consistent branding across platforms, which greatly improved ACS’ marketing efforts.
With defined guidelines, ACS could adapt its brand across different programs.
Situation
ACS wanted a platform to fully communicate with the NGO community.
Task
The goal was to build a community platform acting as a bridge between NGOs, volunteers and corporate partners.
It was also crucial to design a solution that could be easily maintained, updated and scaled in the future.
Action
Clear Information Architecture: to ensure scalability
Simplicity: to maximize content readability.
Community-oriented: by providing a knowledge database through various resources.
Responsive website: to increase the reach to a majority of users.
Results
The ACS website successfully bridged the gap between funders, non-profits and volunteers, becoming a hub for the local NGO community.
The website proved highly scalable, accumulating very little design debt through the years.
